As I write this, I realize that most, if not all of you, are hunkered down under a “stay-at-home” order in an effort to stop the COVID-19 spread. Since life for most all of us has been drastically altered and has come to an eerie standstill, I have felt the need to communicate to you regarding camp and the potential impact of this virus on the summer camp schedule. We know that there will be a degree of impact, but the full degree of impact is too early to determine.
There are a few things that we want you to know:
- We as a Board are monitoring the constant stream of information on the Corona Virus. Some of that info is contradictory, especially the different possible scenarios of the virus’s duration. So an official decision about summer camp has not yet been made. We anticipate that in the next weeks there will be enough of a consensus by medical personnel that will aid in giving us direction.
- Summer camp registration is still open. If you want your child to attend camp, please complete the online registration form, but do not send in a deposit. You can do that by clicking “mail in payment” when you come to the credit card section. By doing this, we will have an idea of who wants to come and can contact you if we open camp – even for just part of the summer. If we are able to open camp toward the end of summer on an abbreviated schedule, those who have already registered will have the first priority.
- If you have already registered and have made a payment, your registration fee will be fully refunded if camp does not open and your child cannot attend.
A most important thing for you to know is the following:
“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases and His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:21-23.
We belong to Him who is totally faithful and is in total control,
Becky Wray, Director – Ambassador Camp
