“This God – His way is perfect (blameless); the word of the Lord proves true; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. Who is God, but the Lord? And who is a Rock, except our God?” Psalm 18: 30-31
We have needed the reminder of who God is to us as we as a Board have struggled with the decision of whether to open camp this summer. We have needed the assurance that His way is totally perfect – not partially perfect. We have desperately needed to know for certain that His Word is totally true and that we can stake our lives on it as well as the ministry of Ambassador Camp. We have needed Him as a refuge and as a rock as we began to realize that the encroaching influence of COVID-19 was not diminishing as quickly as it needed to for us to safely open camp this summer.
So for the summer of 2020 Ambassador Camp will not be open. You will never know how it grieves us to even think of, much less write these words. We cannot imagine kids and staff being absent from these grounds. But neither can we imagine even just one camper or one staffer being here, symptom-free, and yet contagious to 140 others. So while this decision has been anything but easy, it is the right decision.
Please know that we will be reaching out to you all through the summer by social media, texts, calls, letters and other avenues. Aunt Sara Bailey is geared up to do AMAZING things through social media to keep us connected. We love each of you and we so much want you to remain connected to camp. Summer 2021 is only months away and (the Lord willing) camp will come roaring back and roaring back with YOU onboard!
For those who have already registered and paid, you have a few options. You may request a full refund. You can also request a coupon for the amount you have paid for next summer’s camp. Thirdly, you can use your payment as a donation for which you will receive a tax deductible receipt Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know how you want us to respond.
Because He is our Rock and His way is perfect,
