December , 2014
Recently I have been sensing an inner urge to pray more often and more earnestly. So in addition to prayer in the morning during my time with Him, this increased urgency has translated into a time of prayer each evening. My heart is longing for the Lord’s gracious presence and peace and power to be evidenced in my life, in family circumstances and in the ministry of Ambassador Camp.
Since camp’s inception, prayer has been the cornerstone. Many, many times I heard Aunt Sara say that the way camp was sustained and the way it advanced was through “bended knee” – hers and those whom the Lord brought to labor with her in the ministry. How many times I saw her (and often joined her) kneeling by the couch in her living room to pray for camp’s needs. How many times did I hear her confess that camp was TOTALLY dependent upon the Lord’s provision through His faithfulness in answering prayer. What a blessed heritage! What an unshakable foundation was laid to advance His kingdom among the thousands of children that have passed through summer after summer since 1957.
Our need for Him and for His faithfulness to answer prayer have not changed. James in his epistle nails it. “You do not have because you do not ask.” And so a small number of staff will gather at camp on December 27, 28 and “ask.” We will rally around the truth of Luke 12:32. “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom.” We will mix our asking with faith according to 1 John 5:14-15. We will have the confidence that if we ask according to His will, He will hear and we will have our requests granted through His faithfulness. And we will leave knowing that our gracious Heavenly Father has encircled the ministries of camp for 2015 with His goodness and love, and with His protection, provision and power.
For those who love Ambassador Camp and would like to know specifically how to pray, we will gladly mail to you the Prayer Retreat Booklet that provides a detailed outline for prayer. Just email us to request the booklet. We would be so very thankful if you would include Ambassador Camp in your daily prayer time.
Many His deepest blessings be yours,
